Stork Haven is a guided nature experience at Kokkare Bellur, a rare village where people and birds have shared space in harmony for centuries. Participants get to witness painted storks nesting, an annual spectacle that has become part of the village’s identity.

The walk offers a close look at how local communities have protected these birds for generations—treating them like family rather than visitors. Participants will also visit the local Nature Interpretation Centre to learn about the region’s biodiversity and ongoing conservation efforts.

Kokkare Bellur is Karnataka’s only community-protected bird sanctuary and one of the last places where this human–bird relationship can still be experienced in its purest form.

This is a slow, mindful morning in nature—observing, learning, and reflecting on coexistence.
